What you MUST have for your workshop:
Important note:
If you have a PC or another editing program, we can still work together. I’ll be working on a Mac with Final Cut Pro, if you can translate what I teach to your system – that’s no problem for me.
Camera/Audio Gear
- A standard type digital HD video camera or DSLR with at least one lens
- If you have a DSLR you’ll need a Zacuto Z-Finder or similar to focus & compose on the LCD screen,
- Sennheiser ME-64 or other type of shotgun mic. If your using a DSLR you should have H4N style audio recorder.
- A wireless mic kit would be nice but not essential and of course bring a tripod with video fluid head.
Computer Gear
- MacBook Pro Laptop
- 2TB 7200 RPM External FW 800 Hard Drive with at least 1TB free space available
- Firewire 800 cable for the hard drive
- Sandisk FW800 card reader and cable
- Sandisk 16GB or 32 GB CF cards (your camera may take SDHC cards and not CF cards – same specs and bring the card reader!)
Software
- Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 (Part of Final Cut Studio)
- Soundtrack Pro (Part of Final Cut Studio)
- Pluraleyes for those of you recording on the H4N or similar style audio recorder
- Photoshop – in case you need to use photographs in your story
